Galaxy Note 8

WHAAAAT!? :crylaugh:

Yep, Telkom gave me the same ETA.

The agent told me over the phone its a normal voice&data contract.

I get:
10GB data per month for the first 3months
1GB Data pm after that
Didn't bother to ask about SMSs and Minutes as I'll use the sim in my iPad and after the 10GB promo is over I'll use it in my S7 Edge as a 2nd number for the days Voda act up.

Excellent stuff, thank you, might just go for the Telkom option then...

Played with demo Note 8 at Vodacom
yesterday.! Feels very nice and comfy in the hand and not as slippery as the S8 +.
i was also happy about the nice flat screen and the Spen.
It looks and feel studier, than the Note5 Spen.

Thats one of the main reasons I did not want the S8+, as cool as the Edges are on S7E and S8+, I wanted a Display with a larger flat surface area, as I watch a lot of YouTube and Series in bed on my phone.

The Note7 also had steep edges like the Note8 that allowed for a larger flat surface.

Yes, but i have best of 2 worlds.
Pre ordered Note 8, with my
regular Vodacom consultant.
So i have a S8+ and will have the Note 8 soon.
Unfortunately my son has pre booked
my S8+
So i will keep Note 8 and take Note 5
back from him.

also had a go with the note 8 today in the voda shop.

the nice

-camera is wow
-screen res
-flat screen
-personally square shape makes it less droppable
-spen super accurate

the not nice

-spen feels cheap and plasticy, my note 4 pen felt better
-the odd tall size factor of new samsung just doesnt do it for me
-already started spotting random menu stutters, common thing with samsung, updates only makes it worse, the need you to feel your old phone is crap and you need a new phone when the new model comes out right?

haven't had a chance to play, but i read somewhere the s pen feels better than previous models  will see if i can find that video/article

yeh, everyone is doing it now, very strange... hopefully just a phase.

remember that Note8 has got demo software on it. by no means the production version, so don't judge was you see in a demo model.

I agree, in fact it is a deal breaker for me. I don't care that a wider phone can't fit in a small Chinese hand. I don't want to be holding something that looks like a saber or broom stick. It's just far too narrow and tall.

Fanie,
I have the Note 2, 3,4 and Note 5.
The Spen on the Note2, 3,4 was of good, strong quality but felt very antique, in hand
, compared to Note 8 Spen.
However on Note5, they introduced the
click feature on the Spen.
The Note 5 Spen felt very fragile
and you could accidentally snap it in half.
However on Note 8, i found that the Spen
buidt quality was of much better quality, than Note5.
It also felt better in hand than all other Spens, i used.

The click feature? Wasn't that the little button on the Note 4 already? I remember using that and I didn't have a Note 5.

One button on side and another
"click" button on top of Spen
(2xbuttons)
Side button is for various functions
Top button is spring loaded. (release function)
To eject Spen you push top of pen and
pen is released.
If you insert Spen
you push pen in and it sort of clicks to keep in place, that you don't loose it.
Note 8 has basically same functions.
