Galaxy Note 8

eyyy new software update, now with ar emoji and also super slow mo they say.... about damn time i say
Nice! Should be coming through for our SA units shortly then :D

The Super Slow mo is 720P@480FPS, which is decent. Our Exynos units are capable of 960FPS as far as I know, but due to Snapdragon 835 in the USA units that doesn't support that frame rate, they kept it at 480FPS.

The Exynos also supports 4K@120FPS, but we will never get that due to Snapdragon not supporting that either

I see the update is available for Vodacom surprised at how fast they updating

Busy updating! :D

It's been great how fast they have been updating the Note8. I said it in the early days of the Note8 that Samsung usually does this with their Notes, the updates start off slow then come thick and fast. Same thing happened with the Note 4 between 2014 and 2015.

This is also the first phone that I have not bothered to change the CSC with, it's just not worth changing CSC anymore.

I thought there would be a box area where whatever goes in that area would be slowed down am I missing something

As usual, MTN will follow shortly... 3 months later

I think Vodacom are just lucky that they are part of the Vodafone Group and so they probably barely have to do much work by the time they get the FW as it's probably coming from the UK and just needs fine tuning for the local market.

I have two Note 8's. One Vodacom branded and one Unbranded (MTN).

The Unbranded one has much better battery performance. Seems like bloatware really mess up battery life.
This has been confirmed, hence popularity of debloated firmware

You can try package disabler pro + for Samsung. Worked on my 8 and on my 9

Yep, typically Unbranded always has better battery life and performance.

Must say though, I have had no issues with my branded Vodacom Note8, and I have removed the Vodacom apps I could remove.

I have a note 8 dual sim bought overseas. Samsung pay is still not working. How do I get it to work?
Overseas, is kinda big, the CSC in all probability is for a country where Samsung Pay is not supported as yet.

Yes, you can change the CSC to a country that supports Samsung Pay. Check on XDA.
