Does not seem like we received this big one as reported in the article above.... Check the Live Focus and the updates are definitely not there... When I check Sammobile/firmwares, it seems like it's only Taiwan that received the huge update, going by firmware versions

Yah, I was surprised that it was only 300mb, I figured we just got a standard security patch update, probably minor tweaks and there. We'll probably get that big update in January, I doubt we'll get anymore updates this year..... At least not after next week.

Any downsides to the update? Some guys complaining about battery life and fast charge going bonkers
 
Hi, I recently purchased my note 8. What n excellent device. So anyways I noticed that im not able to make video calls even though the device is capable of doing video calling / live calling

So my sp is Vodacom and i called them and they told me that that there is no setting it should be able to from the get go. Obviously this is not the case...

So does anyone out there experiencing the same problem and if you have solved it please share. Anyone else got suggestions? Would be appreciated

Investigating this I found something else interesting, Call+

But only on my fellow Note user's details

Thanks for looking at this...

So i noticed that on my note 8 at that video call option in settings was missing . Then I used another phone and video called the note8 nd the call went through. So im able to receive vcalls. So i used WhatsApp from the n8 and video called the other phone and it worked. This tells me that the phone is able to do vcall but for some odd reason the vcall settings is missing. Then i went and searched on the net for the n8 manual and found that there should've been a vcall icon from the dailpad and instead i have the messages icon. Does anyone have a work around?

I actually picked on up this weekend aswell. I also don't have the option. Only a message icon. I'm with Vodacom.

I am also with vodacom. Wonder if this is a problem with Vodacom only or is it all the n8 shipped to SA. Doing some research I found ppl having the same issue in the US. Only way to vcall is via WhatsApp at tge moment till this is sorted

I am on Vodacom prepaid with Note 8 XFA. Can video call
 
Also cannot video call, but can receive. On Vodacom contract. Maybe it has to do with SIM provisioning?
 
I am on Vodacom contract using a XFA phone and have the video call icon.

Maybe it is related to the XFV firmware?
