Galaxy Note 8

3hours 30min after fully charged. 2hours SOT and battery already on 69%.
Seems like the latest update f'ed up my Note.

I updated to the latest firmware version a few days ago and no difference on battery. In fact it probably improved

only alternative is to
wipe cache /factory reset.
I know it's a hassle , but in the long
run, it could be worth the effort.

Don't waist your time.
If you look at your IMS settings
( use QuickShortcutMaker to find)
You will see it's most
likely activated.( See screenshot)
After Googling a bit, it seems
to me that a lot of Service Providers
eg. Vodacom etc, has done this intentionally.( Not Samsung.)
Video button not active, as they want
you to use a 3rd party app
Then you have to use
data.(money) to video call etc. They score.

On my Note5 video button is on
dialpad.
However on latest device re Note 8
its missing. Replaced with Sms icon.?

I found this to be the same on my note8... disappointing actually

Were you able to fix this? My work around is vc via WhatsApp
I don't know if you noticed but Note 8
does have the video call icon on call interface, but is greyed out.
See screenshot.

If you receive a video call it will light up.
So yo can receive but will have to use 3rd party app to make video calls
My opinion is still, that all new
devices will go this route.?
That they "force" you to
use data, as to do video calls.
To increase their revenue.

Reminder, to what Vodacom
stated a quite a while back.....
That revenue from voice calls have declined.
Recently, they again stated that their
revenue for data had increased.!

When you open contacts and click on a name doesn't yours do the same as attached ?

Your screenshot shows that you are calling already and that is why the video call button is greyed out.
