Galaxy Note 8

Not bad, seems though the power houses-battery wise for Samsung is their A series.

How's everyone finding their Note8 6months in!? Alresford much talk and leaking of the S9 and S9+ (couldnt really care for either one, lol).

I am looking forward to the Note9 which I will definitely get, butust say so far absolutely loving this beast. Samsung Focus and along with the SPen and huge Display, making doing client work a breeze :D

I was more exited about my Note 6 months down the line than what I am with the note 8... I think the Note series lost a lot of the uniqueness from when the s7 edge came out. I still use my Note 4 for audit work because its gives me a flat screen to use. With the new tax imposed on smartphones the iteration after the Note 9 will have to be something really special.

Tax imposed?
Yep, they include smartphones in the below. They are going to get more expensive.

At this rate Galaxy Note and a top end iPhone will sit at +R25000

It is insane.... That is all i can say. They even included golf balls under luxury items
Indeed, it's madness!

Anything deemed as a "luxury" is going to cost a lot more now.

I wonder how much the Note9 will cost as at the moment I am seeing predictions of the S9+ being pegged at ~$997, that is more than what the Note8 was, so the Note9 will easily be +$1000, which means it will be k*k expensive by the time it arrives here.

Will be interesting to see what the SA networks will do, because people are already strained, the Low end and Mid end phone market is going to be buzzing.

Absolutely, i can afford contracts anymore. Paid off 2 and now gone sim only. Will have to buy phones once the prices drop.

Any idea if project trebel will come to the note 8 with oreo or only with phones released with oreo

To be honest inhave no idea. I would assume Project Treble is for phones that ship with Oreo from Day 1 though.

a lil bit dissapointed in my trusty amoled, thanks to all my navigation i now have burn in on the bottom and top of my screen of google maps. sigh...

on a side note (pun intended) does these burn in fix apps actually work or do they just make it worse?

Ouch! Sorry to hear that man.

I've never tried them, the last time I had burn-in was on my old Galaxy S2, and that burn-in never managed to go away no matter what I tried back then, but those older AMOLEDs burned in much easier and quicker.

Must say guys, I still love the Note8s design overall the flatter, wider looking design has more presence about it, I hope the Note9 will keep this same shape and just reconfigure the placement of the FPS.

S9 is truly stunning though. Looking forward to the thoughts on it from those who own Note8s.
