I've read rumours about possible consolidation of S and Note range, whatever the next SPen wielding Sammy phone is after the Note9, I am getting next year, lol.
I think Samsung have a great thing going here with S releasing early in the year and Note later in the year, it allows them to stay on top of the high end market in both halfs of the year. They just need to better justify their pricing (put more unique features and better quality hardware) or lower it.
Samsung are lucky in the sense that their profit margins are huge compared to Huawei and Xiaomi, due to them building a large portion of the most expensive components in their phones in-house and supplying their competitors.
I love that they are taking knocks from the Chinese OEMs, it's going to push Samsung to innovate more. I think we are going to see some awesome stuff next year with it being the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S, they are going to have to do a slight rebrand around it all and bring something fresh.
