Ah guess I will have to wait to see. Apparently the promo ended on the 6th so they cannot guarantee me one, but Samsung emails me and says I can still claim my welcome pack, so not sure who is not on the same page.

Does anyone know if the silver version of the Note 9 is available here? I really want this colour but some of the stores are not even aware that it was released in silver recently.
I haven't seen it in SA.
I forced mine to September. Will do the same for October.

Does MTN even brand their device FW? I am just wondering as they always seem to be late with updates. Vodacom have been very good at updating despite the amount of bloat they put in to our devices.

Must be the Samsung Push Service, they often use it to advertise new products.
I'm working and living in Nairobi, Kenya. I am looking for a new phone, and see that the SAMSUNG NOTE 9 with dual SIM slots and 6GB/128GB sells locally for 99,990 Kenyan Shillings. At todays rate, that is around R 13,900.00 .
How does that price compare to you folk in ZA ? Is my local price good ? or should I buy next time I go to ZA ?

Wow, then it is going for a steal here in Kenya !!! It seems odd - S.A being more first world (supposedly), bigger market etc and yet it is so much more expensive there.
Petrol here is also a bit cheaper than ZA, we pay around R 14.00 per litre. My cellphone plan costs R 300, and for that I get 35 GB data monthly (with monthly roll over), 3000 minutes talk time and 1000 SMS.
Back to the topic - I think I will go and get myself a new Note 9 this afternoon then, from the local Samsung propriety OEM shop. Thanks for the feedback
