Galaxy Note9

Eish, I miss the days of Samsung ADH. It's needed now more than ever before with these mostly glass devices.

I took the Mobile Care option and cancelled the ludicrous Vodacom insurance. If you pay the premium upfront you get additional cover such as free battery replacements in addition to the screen repair. The excess payment is the same as for Vodacom insurance.

Same here.

Rather include it with your household insurance. You then also get theft cover.

To those who redeemed the Welcome Pack on Celcom - how long did it take for delivery? I just received a one-line email, with no eta or reference or contact number or anything. Quite weird imo.

"Your Welcome Pack has been booked and will be dispatched ASAP" and that's it.

Mine was 3 days, but believe they running out of stock.

Been waiting 5 days already.

I got my phone on the launch Friday and the welcome pack the following Tuesday. I haven't used the voucher as yet.

The copper looks awesome...

What is the model number of the Note 9 duos that Samsung ships? The standard one is N960F.

Metallic Copper

I disagree.
SMC is not that great. R1000 up front payment needs to be made and a battery replacement is mandatory with a screen replacement, so even if you stayed with vodacom insurance, you would still have gotten a battery replacement with your screen replacement. Not sure what vodacom's excess amounts are, but the monthly charge is less I believe.

SMC is basically the new ADH, except you pay for it. Uses the same website as ADH and everything.

Vodacom monthly insurance instalment R305.70. No mention anywhere about battery replacement being mandatory. Eccess R1000.

It's not mentioned, but it is.
As per Samsung battery needs to be replaced with the screen.
This has been mandatory since the S8

Is R300pm insurance on the entire device or just for accidental damage?
To my knowledge the accidental damage cover from vodacom insurance is R80 pm

Yes, Vodacom accidental cover is R80p.m.

Samsung cover works out to R50p.m. if you pay upfront.

I suppose SMC may be more convenient then

If you can find a place that actually does SMC repairs

I have included the note9 in my home insurance. I requested screen damage cover only from Vodacom. When I received the insurance documents it was comprehensive. On inquiry told that was the only option. Cancelled and went the SMC route.

As far as I know there's no way to track it, I ordered mine 24 August received it 29 August. A friend of mine ordered his 5 September, still waiting. Apparently there is a major backlog :~

When I queried them yesterday, about delivery etc , they replied that they have no stock.!
They are waiting for Samsung to deliver.
Further its my guess Samsung SA, again is waiting for stock from overseas.
