How do I disable the feature at the top of the screen that adjusts the brightness when I move my finger accross it? I notice several times that my brightness level was very low because I unknowingly swiped across the top when dragging down new sms's/notifications. I like to have the phone on max brightness. Looks so good.

Settings - Display - Brightness

Untick Automatic Brightness and set brightness accordingly.

It's not that. The automatic brightness is unticked. Those with Galaxy S's will know what I'm talking about. Not sure if it the same on all android interfaces. Swiping across the top of the screen on the notification bar changes the brightness.

On the Froyo firmwares you need to hold the notification bar for one second before the brightness control activates. And you can no longer adjust it via the notification bar if automatic brightness is on.
You either need to wait until Froyo is released for SA or flash another firmware yourself.

Apparently Samsung is finally rolling out Froyo on the Galaxy S next week. So will update. Thought there was maybe some setting I could change to disable the feature.
