I've been having a problem with my Galaxy S the last week or so. The battery life has gotten really bad. It can be fully charged before I go to bed at night and be dead in the morning 6 hours later. I was late for work 2 days in a row because of this as well. No wake up alarm because phone dead.
I did some research and it seems that this can be caused due to a poor signal. i.e. the phone switching from Edge to 3G to HSDPA all the time.
I'm guessing that it is most probably that the Virgin Mobile signal has gotten bad in my area over the last week or so.
What is the best fix for this?
- I could use an Edge only profile and switch to 3G when I want to use the net.
- Or there is some other more convenient way?
I have no active applications running and am on Android 2.1. Not sure if Android 2.2 has a fix for this but will install it next month. My battery normally lasted for a full day and I used to charge it for a couple of hours in the evening.
