I bought a second hand S4 mini (I9195) yesterday. The battery was about 50% when I received it but it drained quickly after that. I thought it was due to the fact that I was installing multiple applications and was playing around, toggling the settings. When the excitement settled down I saw that the phone had reached 20% and it gave me a notification saying just that. About 2 minutes later it was at 15%. Within 5 minutes the phone shut down and I had to charge it.
This morning I took it off charge and the battery immediately dropped to 98%. A few minutes later it was at 90% and it just went downward from thereon out.
My settings:
WiFi - off
GPS and Location Services - off
Bluetooth - off
Mobile Data (3G) - on
Power saving (doesn't work when I turn it on) - off
Everything else is off except sync. I use it to get email.
Motion services and smart stay is also off.
I am aware that the S4 battery that starts with AA has swelling and issues similar than mine. My battery also starts with AA but since it is the Mini I'm not sure if it has the same issues as the S4's batteries. Could it be this? If so will Samsung give me a new battery free of charge? The phone is less than 6 months old.
Could it also be due to the fact that I have a SanDisk memory card inserted? Any help will be appreciated.
The phone is running Android 4.2.2. It is Vodacom stock.
