Galaxy Tab Newton Rings

That's the impression I'm getting. But although a lot is being said about the GT 10.1 and the TF, I'm surprised the Acer Iconia is not more of a player. They all seem to be priced at the same level but it's hard to get feedback from users. I'm wondering if that in itself says it's not very popular for a reason????

Yes I have both an Original iPad and a Asus Eee Transformer, and I love my ASUS more than my iPad, but what Samsung is doing to Android just plain sucks. From Newton ring's to apps that dont work, I would say stay the hell away.

Unfortunately the ASUS does not have 3G, well they do but not SA models. 3G came out in July in Korea, I have a feeling we have to blame the SP's as they need to approve them for the networks before we can get them.

The 3G TF was top of my list for a while but the uncertaintly pushed it out of my mind and out of the equation because I want to buy something now. I've read some of the threads here and everyone seems pretty pleased with it, but 3G is essential for me.

Yeah, I compared the specs between the two devices, and iPad falls short, but then the iPad is cheaper than the tab..

nevertheless, I haven't used honeycomb.. I know what you mean.. Relating things back to the first device you have..

But yeah.. it's my first time having such a device.. so I think I'm neutral :D

kaisterkai, so true ... it is very problematic that tablet/pad buyers cannot get a good feel for a product before buying. One buys a very expensive device based on what others are saying (very subjective). When the frustrations hit one is stranded.

If only the iPad 2 could also be had on a cell contract ... (the waiting list will then be three time longer than it normally is).

Yeah, MTN has a good deal... See.. am planning to get the contract which comes with the S2.. But don't know.. not sure... but yeah..

Sigh.. guess have to find someone who has one to let me play around with it for a while...

Yeah, iPad would sell crazy.. But then again, iPad... do they have 3G? One with sim cards?

I do enjoy iOS, I have an ipod touch and my wife has an iphone, so it is familiar and does everything I want it to do. I have never used Android but like the idea of a 3G hotspot and of course the connectivity is a bonus point.

But yeah, as I say I'm away a lot and have a lot of time to research. In the last month I've gone from Acer A501 to Transformer 3G to ipad2 to Galaxy Tab and back again in no particular order.

My wife is off to France next week and a 4S was my other option, but that's a whole new story :)

Which is more user friendly? Like easy to acustom to..

My second (replacement) Tab has not developed any Newton Rings thus far. Looking good so far. This however does not make up for the horrible Honeycomb experience I'm having. Since getting the new one I've had to do a factory reset three times already. Also still no way to monitor 3G data usage and good luck getting any assistance from MTN. They give you a 2GB data package but then leave it to you to figure out how to monitor your data usage on the P7500.

Yeah, just want to ask, the MTN contract, is that the 3G version?

I heard that there is the GT P7500 that has a micro SD slot, and one that doesn't.. and one that has a sim and one that doesn't.. so. don't know which one is which O.o
 
My replacement Samsung Galaxy 10.1 has not had any newton rings popup. I got it about 3 months ago.
I am very happy with my Galaxy, and would (and did) choose it over IPAD. Although, being more of a "techie", I may be biased.

At work my team is doing mobile development on both Android and IOS, and we have an IPAD2, IPhone4, Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tab to work with, and our lives have been much easier on the android devices. Not as many restrictions, and no costs involved for development on Android (other than our time). Of course, your average user isn't involved in development, so this wouldn't be a factor for them.

sorry apple. your devices just dont do it for me, and for her it seems. She uses my devices more than her own. I am due for an upgrade in Feb so will give my desire to her so she will get an "upgrade" as well.

As the owner of iPad 1, iPad 2, SGT10.1 and HTC Flyer I can without any hesitation say that the SGT10.1 is rubbish. Samsung's TouchWiz on top of Honeycomb is a OS disaster. The Flyer convinced me of this.

I offered my wife and kids the SGT10.1 as I've given up on it but they wouldn't take it stating that even they know rubbish tech when they see it.

Precisely why peoples opinions are different. I think iOS is rubbish whereas you think the Galaxy Tab is rubbish. Each to their own I guess.
