Game Cards

I did suspect something along these lines, after MC comments in the SA-pirate server thread. I even commented then that there are places for people with his viewpoint on laws. Did not expect it to be true though, and really hope that none of you have lost too much on this possible "scam"/"stolen codes".

I'm waiting to hear from RPG-bay. If they want the code back I lost R 220. I haven't used it yet, and think I'm glad i didn' as yet. Don't want to lose my whole account based on a Subscrition card I bought online :eek:

Wow it is so nice to see the level of honesty here. There is honour amongst gamers it seems. Good stuff. I just wanted to let you guys know that Mastercarder is settling his debt with me in the correct manner. He has agreed to repay me what he owes and has realised the error of his way on this one. I believe him to be sincere and see no reason to doubt his intentions at this point. With regards to your gametime code I have no reason to report codes stolen and to hold any of you liable. Please use the codes as you see fit and do not worry your pretty little heads :)

I doubt it will come down to loosing your account. Not through 3rd party vendors anyway. Even if a criminal case is opened at most you stand to loose the money you payed for the card.
I rather think it is quite admirable from you to be willing to return the code, and RPG may decide to reward you for your honesty. Since they can now redeem their costs on that code, if they have not canceled it already?

if possible, would you be able to clear Mastercarders name on this forum with the admins? his original username has been banned

also, would you perhaps have more information about what went wrong here? was MC actually the one at fault or did he fall in somebody else's trap?

then, to return to the topic of gametime cards: you posted on a different forum about selling GTC's for R220 a pop. granted it was in 2004, but how did the price increase so significantly in the last four years? is this all because of the Rand/Euro exchange rate?

O well, he posted in the other thread that the cards are all valid and he won't forclose on them. MC is paying for the cards or something to that effect.

Yea his post is a few posts before mine, seems every one was posting at the same time. And now mine being last seems a bit redundant :D But never the less, I still doubt your account will be banned from dealings with a third party vendor.
I rather not go into the credibility of some of these 3rd party vendors ;)

That seems to be the case, he prob will need to forward the money he earned and pay in any difference...

I also wish to hear MC side of story.

Cancelled my CC subs, accounts running out and now bam, we get this.

What is everyone else gonna do now? Anyone know a cheaper place than the subs service at Blizz?

based on the prices from rpg-bay, credit card sub is still your cheapest option. the only reason to use GTC's at that price is if you do not have a CC. unless the euro exchange rate shoots through the roof, then CC is the only way to go

apart from MC's attempt at offering good prices, there is no other cheap alternative.
 
How cheap do you need the GTC to be before dumping CC subscription? My math sucks :(
 
my maths is pretty vrot too :( but my understanding is the following

WoW month-to-month CC subscription = 12.99 euro (R146+-) *
60 day GTC from RPG bay = R315 (or R157.50 per month)

So a 60 day GTC should be below R290 before it becomes cheaper. To put it in perspective, the R220 GTC's (which were stolen unfortunately) meant a saving of about R40 per month (give or take, depending on the euro exchange rate for that month

take2 have the same stuff listed for R282, but unfortunately they have no stock (supplier out of stock)

Ok wait, I'm confused now.

I just gave this a thought.

MC bought his cards from his supplier and could offer them for R 220.00 and make a profit. Now with all this going around it seems like RPG-bay was his supplier :confused: There was some payment problem lets say his credit card payments was reversed by who ever and what ever.

That still means that RPG-bay can sell the cards for R 220.00 to us or am I missing something ?

I mean if MC was legit he would not pay R 300 for a gamecard and sell it to us for R 220.00. I would like to know what price he paid for them on RPG-bay

PM one of the mods only they'll be able to help you out there, but selling stuff in forum threads and not the classifieds will get you banned eventually anyway.

Besides "Mastercarder" for a nick is highly suspicious if you ask me.

month-by-month subscription costs 12.99€/£8.99 per month, ~R146.26
3-month subscription costs 11.99€/£8.39 per month ~R135.00
and six month subscription costs 10.99€/£7.69 per month ~R123.75

Rand : Euro = R11.26 : 1Euro (2008/08/04)
So even on 6 month deals, the R220 looked good ;)
