Game/console collectors thread

At least you can play the game after switching it on. Back in the day before you were born we had to wait a full 4 minutes for a game to be loaded onto our ZX Spectrum 48k via an analogue tapedeck that when you turned the volume up it sounded like angry robots screaming at each other
And sometimes it wouldn't load properly and you had to bump the volume slightly up or down, rewind the tape and try again. Ahh, the good old days :D

Yup, can definitely vouch for that. I was more into the Commodore 64 back then.
Not all tape based games were that irritating to load though.
The ones for the Atari 2600 took less time to load and as a result were more reliable, as I recall.

Wait, what wizardry is this? I had a 2600 as a kid and a few carts but had no idea that tapes were a thing for it.
What I do remember is playing with the Spectravideo expansion, which had tape in/out but I think it could only save/load programs for the Spectravideo itself.

My Robocop game had a dodgy tape, so I'd have to wound it to the right tension or otherwise it would refuse to load...it usually took me 2-3 tries to get it working.

I had a few Big Box Myst related PC games I sold last year. That sellers stuff though (that one, Warcraft 3, Diablo, and some others) look absolutely mint.
