Got a mate who's a big BF2 fan so I thought I'd get him a controller for his b'day.

2 questions -

1. is it worth it?
2. Which one?

Thanks

EDIT - I'm thinking along the lines of a cordless rumblepad.

Sorry, but a keyboard and mouse is the best option for BF2 in my opinion. (And a joystick for flying.) It is hard to shoot as accurately with a controller.

So, do you think he'd appreciate a joystick?

Okay ...

Buy me a laser mouse with more than 200 resolution and 2 extra buttons that can map to the weapons [e.g. Mouse Button 3 = Same as pressing 1, and Mouse Button 4 = same as pressing 3].

What ... you wer'nt talking about me ... sigh.

Depends how much you're willing to pay. I'd get him a joystick. The Logitech Extreme 3D PRO or the Logitech Force 3D PRO (the same as the Extreme only with Force Feedback). Logitech Joysticks

If he'd rather want a mouse. Logitech G5

If he's left handed tho, go with the Razor
Thanks Toxin - Amazon only has the G7 so I'll hunt around a bit.

I wouldn't recommend a force feedback joystick for Bf2 - the 'slack' in the center can make it very difficult to control a chopper precisely. They're ok-ish for jets.

Thanks all. Hope he'll be chuffed with the mouse. :)
