I'm trying to find a game that me and the missus could play together. The last game she played was Warcraft 3.

I have a descend gfx card, but she got my old rig with its 6800GT. So will need something that will be able to run on both rigs.
I'm also using Win7rc for the moment, and she is on WinXP.

She doesn't like FPS type games, nor anything like Civilisation / C&C.

Any ideas? I was thinking of getting Warcraft 3, and then play it on the LAN, if that is possible.

Already have. Will have to see if she can handle it or not.

I'm looking for something that can be played off-line, i.e. only on our local LAN.

Warcraft 3 can be played on a LAN, try Battle for Middle Earth II if she like that whole goblin and gremlin thing.

Try Heroes of Newerth. If you both like Warcraft 3, you would love Heroes of Newerth

HoN is internet based, right? Would it work on a shared 384kbps link?

@Web
I will keep LoTR in mind. We both like the books and movies.

Then you will enjoy BFME but make sure you get the second one the first one is too restrictive with where you can build camps etc.

I see take2 have it for R84, not bad. Will present it to the missus for approval :o

CNA have it for around R90 but you need to buy two copies because you need two serial numbers, or just "find" another serial when you install on the one PC pm me if you need to borrow a serial

I'll go the two copy route. Might want to play online eventually.

Yea went that route too when my mate cant make it to my place we just "meet" online and play against each other

Yea. Its Internet based. I am not sure if two people can play on the same line, but there is a iGame server setup locally with low Ping. I assume two players can play on the same line and it should be fine with the local server.
