Gamepad Controllers Galor, which one is king?

Visit some cash crusaders and see if you can find one in a good condition. They usualy have like a 2 day warranty on stuff like that so you can go test it.

Get a bottle of alcohol too to disinfect it while your out and about xD

I think the health risk is too high. I would have to dip the controller in a bucket of alcohol. Which is not really a good idea.

Not too worried about force feedback. But will keep that in mind, thanks.

In that case, I can only comment on my experience - I use them frequently: The range is good (I sit on my couch and play - about 3 meters away) I will use them to navigate STEAM and I play Gauntlet, NFS, TM Canyon and London 2012 with them. It is responsive and feels solid in my hand. Needless to say, I have mashed the buttons quit a bit. The battery life is not bad either - I honestly do not know how many gaming hours - never counted, but it feels like ages since I have replaced the batteries.

I do not know or had the need to adjust the dead zone settings...

That is my honest experience with them. Perhaps I do not have much negativity when it comes to Logitech; since I have used much much worse in the past. (Like no name brands - chucked them and can't even remember the name)

Thank you, appreciate that. It's basically what I am looking for.

Glad if that helped and hopeful, should you decide on the Logitech, that you get the same experience as I do and this doesn't come back and bite me in the but. :)

I am sure there are better controllers - I just haven't tried them.

It depends on your play style i suppose. I imagine the F710 would be nice for a twitch gamer wanting to use a gamepad but for me the "distance" between the dead zone and "full speed" movement is too narrow.

Surely understandable.

The wired black Xbox360 controller still remains the best for me.
The cable might be bothersome to some, but it also makes the controller light.

Honestly you're paying the price because you won't replace it often, imagine having to replace the controller often. I've been through that :(

Yeah I do not have too much experience with controllers. So this will be something new for me.
