Gamepad Controllers Galor, which one is king?

Seems a bit silly to release a product with annoyances like that. I guess Microsoft likes to do that though.

I have the Wired 360 for PC controller. It's great, except for the d-pad. Compared to a PS3 controller it really sucks for fighting games.

And the even sadder part of it all is that you will have to buy the battery pack and wireless receiver for R250 - R350 extra.

I will mostly be playing Elite: Dangerous with it. I have tried joysticks and have found it lacking. So now I would like to see how a controller holds up in the game.

Stay far far far away from the Logitech F710. It has horrible deadzone settings and it's hard coded so you can't change it.
I have two gathering dust in my drawer.

If you can find one get a logitech rumblepad 2 (You'll have to use x360ce emulator for most games though) but in my opinion the proper xbox 360 controller is tops.

I own two Logitech F710 wireless controllers. I cannot seem to get the force feedback to work apart from a very faint vibration. Tried on Windows 7 and 8.1. Apart from that - they work well.

I cannot comment on the other controllers.

Not too worried about force feedback. But will keep that in mind, thanks.
 
I got the XBOX 360 controller recently and I'm completely impressed. It gets my vote as well. The force feedback engine is amazing. Much as you think you might not care about it, in action it is much better than you think it will be.

Yeah sure. The only thing stopping me from getting one is the stupendous price.
 
You're paying that price for a reason, also the newer 360 controllers fixed the d-pad.
I've got an original going back 9 years still works though the analogs are worn and the rb button is a little bit soft. But in comparison to the 4 or 5 DS3 controllers from Sony I've replaced over the same course and they are really pricey.
I've got a total of four 360 controllers and all are older than 5 years and still going strong

Maybe that is true. But I am quite poor. So while I would love one, I'm going to have to save a long time to be able to afford it.

Visit some cash crusaders and see if you can find one in a good condition. They usualy have like a 2 day warranty on stuff like that so you can go test it.

Get a bottle of alcohol too to disinfect it while your out and about xD
