Hi, can anyone recommend a decent gamepad for PC games?
will be using it for some racing and FPS. Thanks guys

Xbox controller for Windows, as most of the new games will only work with that. Sure you can get Xbox controller emulators, but that just slows your machine down to unplayable levels -unless I was just using a crappy one to begin with. Given the choice however, just get the Xbox controller.

Prime example for me was GTA IV. A buddy of mine's pc was the same as mine. He had a ATI5770 with a Xbox controller. He played the game on full graphic settings -limited only by the memory - and it was super smooth. Only differences to our rigs was mine was running a ATI5850 but with the Logitech Rumblepad II AND Xbox emulator. I had to basically put all my settings on low to get anything remotely playable. Needless to say this irked the crap out of me. So I went on out, arranged for the Xbox controller, installed it, did away with the RP II/emulator and Bob was your uncle.
(With some games the emulator didn't even work, like Batman Arkham Asylum.)

So given the choice, get the xbox controller. You can play all the new AND old games.
Hope that helped!

Definitely xbox 360 controller.

But gamepad for fps?

Are you high?

from another thread

Just come from Tyger Valley centre

CNA = No
Incredible Connection = No
BT Games = No
Musica (x2) = No
Game = No

So I went to Canal Walk

CNA = No
Incredible Connection = No
BT Games = No
Musica = No
Game = No
Computer Mania = No (the salesman said he tried all his suppliers and nobody has)

ZapsOnline = supplier does not have stock

So where the hell can I get one (XBox controller)?

satan: i need a xcontroller ?
supployer: (covers mouth piece and lolz) : no stock

...you future does not contain xcontroller, face it ;) :D

if you dont wan force feed back look for the logiteck chillstream also very cool xbox clone.

Although I am anti XBox/MS I must say that the Xbox controller for PC is unfortunately the way to go.

Take Darksiders for example...My Logitech controller is picked up by the game but no button configs can be done in the game to make it work properly with the game and even the available emmulators was a bust. Hence I had to get the XBox 360 controller for the PC to play it.

BT Games was my first stop and they had it in stock as well for R 399 (Wireless one). This was up here in Gauteng by the way.

So far I am not very impressed by the service I received from BTGames sales staff. They couldn't tell me when new stock was arriving and didn't even offer an alternative (not that I am interested in one).

As recommended in other thread, did you try Wootware? You can PM Ratwiz (Rory), always great service.

Just make sure you don't get the Wireless Xbox Controller... It doesn't work with PC (even if you buy the charge cable, that cable is just for charging and it doesn't send through any controller commands)

1) That is the controller for XBox and not the XBox controller for PC (which is out of stock with Take2)
2) Yes wantitall does have in stock but they want R200 more for it than ANYONE else...I'll rather wait.
