Games Cause Brain Damage

But there was another study recently that said gaming is good for you ??, I think scientist's should just STFU.

LMFAO....I think the good docter that conducted these tests should stop testin and start playing...

I wonder what was said about the evil of books when Guttie made that tool of Satan.

I would have to agree with Gdiza. COD 4 is awesome. We have a LAN / multiplayer meet and share once a month, COD has overtaken crysis and quake 4 even as a favourite.

Could well be bad for me but so is drinking and high blood pressure and eggs and ... ... .. ..

First is was good for hand-eye-coordination now it causes brain damage ???

So you must be able to hear our collective IQ dropping

The reason you reduce blood circulation in the frontal lobe is because your body is producing dopamine, that researcher sounds like he is funded by the Chinese government, who are trying their best to curb gaming due to the lack of productivity, "productivity" which will ultimately lead to war, so i say F*** u mr yin yang scientist, F** u and the lab rat you rode in on, boom headshot lollies.

agree

Play 440ml FTW!

*Starts frothing at the mouth.*

Seriously, what games were they testing? If it was Counter-Strike, then I can understand...

Although I do wonder if CS is more likely to cause brain damage, or attract those who are already brain-damaged.

Children under seven should be kept away from videogames, a new study claimed.

Educational psychologist, Jane Healy, explained that "the rapid pace of computer games is only stimulating basic "fight or flight" sections of the brain rather than parts responsible for higher reasoning". This, she concludes, makes their brains develop differently and can be linked to a rise in the diagnosis of attention-deficit disorder in children.

"If you watch kids on a computer, most of them are just hitting keys or moving the mouse as fast as they can. It really reminds me of rats running in a maze," said Jane Healy.

What bs!!!

Unless this idiot can actually prove that braincells were dying as a result of the reduced blood flow, then he doesn't have a case.

Anyone with an even rudimentary understanding of biology will know that bloodflow generally increases in areas where your body is using lots of oxygen and energy. I'm not causing muscle damage simply because I'm not running at this very instant.

Bet you Doctor Chou Yuan-hua has a kpd of 1/30!

I think they should let me test him in a game of css....after the game he'll have to be taken to hospital for pshyciatric evaluation he'll keep utering the words " pwetty dessert...noooooooooooooooooooooo...i die nw" for the rest of his miserable exsistance!! GAMES don't cause brain damage!!

this does not sound far fetched ! i hve been playing games since 6 years old !! this does have some truth in it

"He explained that the frontal lobe of the cerebral cortex, located at the front of the brain, is associated with thinking, speaking, decision-making and impulse control, while the anterior cingulate gyrus, located in the medial wall of the frontal lobe, modulates internal emotional responses."

Freakin weird this..And there I was thinking that when I play online I Think, speak, Make tactical Decisions, and dodge by impulse.....but strangely the doc says this area of the brain doesnt get enough blood when playing games..

Gotta increase my blood flow then....I will be UBER leet at thinking, speaking, decision-making and impulse control :)
