Games for my 7 Year Old Bro?

On Wednesday I'm going to finish my 600 of cap that's left, and I promised my nearly 7 year old brother that I would get him some (free) games. Any recommendations?

The computer is:

Windows XP
Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz CPU
384Megs of Ram
Nvidia Geforce 4 Mx440 Graphics Card

So far Iv got Mario (Thanks Mavix)

But yeah your best value will be some MAME packs, or maybe a Mega Drive/SNES emulator and some roms.

But MAIM sounds good, introduce him to the classics so he knows what gaming is all about :D

The PC is my moms we just use its to surf the ADSL, upload her photos and my Bro's games, Mines the Gaming Machine

Are their any adventure games that would suit his age group?

Loads of emulators, and loads and loads of roms. Who knows, maybe an N64 emulator might even work on that machine seeing that it has a gfx card that was fairly decent in it's day.
 
Im not that keen on emulators hey... he very inquisitive and is always calling me to get him out of a mess of error messages and stuff, in my experience, emulates have alot of settings and stuff you have to do, so i would rather just have PC games that he can't mess around with too much
 
something like "the incredible machine" and sequels will run nicely, intro him to a bit of science and keep him puzzled for a bit.
 
Ask him to press the buttons that he should be pressing and he won't be getting all those error messages. I guess it's your choice though if you want to use your 600MB on one game that might work with the machine's spec, or 100 games that will work.
 
NFSU will run on those specs @ 800x600 resolution. None of the later NFS's though!
