Games On New System Vs Old

anywayz....you would think that games that use to run ok on your old PC would run great on your new pc 1-3 years later....Wrong

I installed some games that I never finished or really liked just to have a go at them again...what a stupid idea..

1.) Doom 3 - Well this game runs MUCH better on my new Dual Core pc (prob due to better graphics card) .. so there i'm happy galore.

2.) Titan Quest - Nothing changed

3.) GTA SA - video problems...random jerks etc etc etc...

4.) Dungeon Siege 1 - Even though the frames are 30-60fps the game feel like hyper or something...some things just move to fast and to make it even worse the main character's movement is all stuttery.

5.) Need for speed Underground 2 -

6.) Carbon - Random crashes to desktop - believed to be a buggy game problem

7.) Fable - Just f*cks out when I change to my LCD native...

8.) Oblivion - The grass and rocks is freaking purple!

what games are you guys currently having problems with???

For many games the dual core is a nightmare - if using XP or Vista - open task manager when the game is running.

Right click on the game and click "Affinity" set it to only 1 cpu - not both. Will invariably make a huge difference

AMD 4200+ X2 8800GTS 320meg OS-XPSP2

Guild Wars - perfect
Unreal Tourn 2004 - 110%
Dota (warcraft3) (when I used to have it loooong time ago) - needed dual core hotfix
Stalker - 100%
Need4Speed Underground - 110%

So far so good with me. Only regret is that we aint running 64bit and neither are we running DX10 stuff and by the time we do all my equipment will either be rusted to shyte or not strong enough to handle
