I can run all my games full graphics, but most of the times it lags. When the game runs smooth I can play as long as I like without it lagging, but when I exit the game and start it again or another game it lags and I first have to restart my PC. When it lags no display settings make a difference. I doubt it's a hardware or heat issue, because like I said when it runs smoothly I can play as long as I like without any lag. I run Vista Ultimate 32 bit (have also tried 64 bit).

Any help appreciated.

The first warning sign for me is Vista Ultimate, I had endless trouble with it....I just bought almost exact spec machine as yours, running on XP not an ounce of lag. ;)

I tried XP but it didn't detect my onboard sound and stuff like that so I decided to switch to Vista.

Didnt detect onboard sound? Thats rather peculiar for starters. All I can suggest is possibly full format and reinstall Vista, other than that i really dunno....Could try spware and virus scan. Good Luck!

it didn't detect your o/board sound?! .... it has to. But anyway, ctrl-alt-del after you exit the game and see if the game is still running in processes ............ this happened once to me, so just check.

Ja, sounds like a driver issue causing the app not to release memory that it used. Get newest drivers, don't use the vista drivers, if you already have the latest drivers, try one or two versions older. NB. Do not use the built in Vista drivers, and by that i mean any Vista driver for any hw on your pc.

What is the game you are trying to play that seems to be lagging so much? :) could be that It is still being used in the PC's memory, try alt+ctrl+del and see if it's still running. TF2 used to do that on my old pc it would take 5 mins just to stop the process, and would cause huge ammount of lag :(

I play Race Driver Grid, Assassin's Creed and Call Of Duty 4. All of them work fine (when they work without lag issue). It does not seem as if the processes continue running. My CPU meter looks fine when I return to Desktop. I will try other drivers, but I doubt that's the problem.
