Ok, so I have the Kingston HyperX Cloud (not the "ii"). One of the speakers has given up the ghost and I need a new set.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Steelseries Arctis 7. Seems good.

So, would like to know if anyone has this, and what your thoughts are; or if there is a better alternative at same price or lower.

I am thinking about buying the Steelseries Arctis 7, how have you found them? Would you recommend them?

Very happy with them. Not bass monsters though - so look elsewhere if thats what you want.

Currently using the same Clouds (after I couldn't find the Steelseries Siberia v2's again - still my favourite headset). But have also had my eyes on the Arctis 7. Only drawback is the price. The Clouds are still great, and especially for how cheap they are, so if mine break, I'll just buy another pair.

how is the platronics rig ? they look really goos and are modular...

I bought the "Plantronics RIG Surround Gaming Headset with USB Amplifier with Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound" in 2016, and it worked fine until earlier this month.
The sound was OK and the mic was pretty good according to the people I play with. The head band hurt the top of my head after long gaming sessions.
It had the flat cable, which would get twisted/wound pretty easily. I normally then just hold it up so that it unwinds itself, and I suspect that damaged the mic wire inside. The mic now either doesn't work, or introduces so much noise that I can't use it anymore.

Edit: I paid R700 for them, and compared to the price of the others mentioned here, I would say they are probably worth it.
