Hi there.

My steelseries headset died on me waiting for RMA and man it's taking forever so I decided not to wait for new ones and just get myself new headset instead. Waht is the best gaming headset out there today. Just a note it must also be good for music. I can spend about R1K max
 
For your budget, Roccat Kave.

For a larger budget, decent amplified sound card + decent Sennheisers, like PC-350/360 or HD5xxx for about R3500 total. :p
 
Sennheiser is a bit expensive. I would like the steelseries siberia v2 but with my recent experience they are not that good on returrns. spending R200 to send it to them then waiting forever to get my product back. Local distributor I bought it at don't want to help me out. anything else than the Roccat Kave
 
Saw a set at Matrix 5.1 surround sound headset and they sound great. if im not mistaken it's under R500
 
ok cool just try to find out what it was and get back to me please. Anything else. Doesn't have to be 5.1 can be stereo aswell just as long it's good audio

There's a Zalman 5.1 headset for cheaper than the Kaves. Kaves are very good quality for R800.
 
lol I owned the Zalman 5.1 headset but they are not good. I would like to have something else.

+1, If I could choose again between my Kaves and the G35s, I would go for the G35s.

Kave's stereo mode seems fine for music, I tested them.

Rather true 5.1 sound from independent speakers (Kaves), instead of virtual surround sound coming from 2 speakers (G31)...?

I saw that but I got a mail today that Steelseries will be upgrading me from Siberia v1 to the Siberia V2 USB and Ikari mouse for free. According to Fedex my products should be here on Monday. I will post feedback
