Hi there

I would like to ask the community about suggestions for a gaming PC or a gaming laptop. I am currently using an Asus laptop for some gaming although I am considering upgrading within the next year or so.

My budget for this would be around R15,000-R20,000. I am not a hectic gamer so I don't need anything terribly fancy although I would like to be able to run games smoothly, such as Ark, Rust, The Witcher, Shadow of Modor etc.

I am not very knowledgeable in this field and would appreciate any opinions.

Thanks so much

R15-20k will get you a decent pc.

Do you have a monitor keyboard mouse harddrives etc you can use towRds the build?

Let us know and I'll do a costing or two for you.

Thank you for all this information, I will have a look through it sometime tonight.

I do not have anything currently, besides a mouse, but even that I would like to upgrade. A costing would be great, I would really appreciate it.

Ok cool will get back to you with a build or two from woot/rebel.

A year or two is a long time in the life of PC components. May I suggest you bookmark this thread and revisit it when you are ready to do it?

It won't be two years, I'm hoping around 7 months to be honest, but will have to see.

No, I am not in PTA.

Hi moonspirit

I'm not very knowledgeable on pc parts, however, that being said keep an eye out for for discounts from your large online parts shops such as wooootware, rebeltech and evetech. Some stores will have certain parts cheaper than others.

For example I just recently nabbed a 8 gig rx580 for R2500 as I'm also looking to build a gaming pc.

Also keep in mind that certain parts will fluctuate in price depending on certain factors such as cryptocurrency mining, ram shortages etc so perhaps you should by your pc rig in bits in pieces when the prices are cheap.

For example soon enough there might be some lekker discount on some amd Ryzen 2000 series CPUs as the next gen CPUs are close to dropping.(I'm going to go for the 3600 just waiting for the reviews).

Just revisit this thread when your ready to buy and we can update everything.

Definitely will. Once one has all the parts though, can one get someone else to put it together for them?

I have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever with that sort of thing which is why I'm asking.

And @doodlesZHS I will definitely keep my eye on them and perhaps will buy one or two pieces a month if they are a lot cheaper than they usually would be.

Wootware or Rebeltech can put it together at a small fee.

It's like putting together lego blocks, really not hard.

Hmm okay, would that mean I have to buy everything from them and then they sent it put together or am I able to buy it and then they could do it for me?

I'll check out the video later today though. If it really isn't too hard, maybe I could do it myself.

You would probably have to get everything from them.
