Okay, I need to find a laptop that can play PC games on!

What price, link (to online shop) or if you're in Cape Town, send me a quote via PM.

I know the price is going to be expensive, but I'm not looking for the most expensive laptop that can play all the latest games, just a laptop that can play most of the coolest games, like Call of Duty 4 and come with a large hard drive, a dvd writer, and preferably XP Pro as this PC will also be used for work (Corel Draw etc)

Oh, it's not for me, it's for my boss and he will be paying cash!

There you go!

Give it to me!

Ive been looking around , what you're looking for is a dedicated 3d card... And the only I could find is the Toshiba A300 range... Laptop Direct

If anyone has something else please let me know aswell... Price range between R8000 - R10 000

He says he has no budget, but anything R10,000 + will be too much.

Trust me, I know this guy...

But send me whatever quotes you want, he can either say yes or no...

The best value for money laptop-that-can-do-games would be the HP GW694AV 6735S which I could do for around R7500. It has ATi Mobility Radeon HD3200 graphics which is much better than the Intel equivalents in the GMA X3100 and X4500HD. I could upgrade the RAM to 2GB.

Amd Turion64x2 QL60 Dual-Core 1.9GHz ( L1 : 2x128k , L2 : 2x512K ), 1Gb DDR2-800, AMD M780G chipset, upto 512mb hypermomry ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 vga , 15.4" Lcd ( 1280x800 WXGA ) , no tv-out, 160gb SATA HDD, DVD+/-RW ( DL ) , built-in card reader+ BlueTooth+ WiFi + 10/100 lan + 56k modem + express card/54 , with windows Vista Home Basic 32bit + Office 2007 Ready ( professional with 60 day free trial )

For any thing else he'd be looking at paying around R15k... :(

Why a laptop?? Gaming laptops are EXPENCIVE!
...and the best will be Alienware

Can you send me a proper quote to nick [at] capeads [dot] com please so I can pass it onto him.

Look around notebookreview.com, you will get a good idea of what is available. Also, you haven't provided ANY requirements such as matte or gloss screen, hard drive size, battery requirements, size of screen, any ports you need, what optical drive, what weight you want the laptop to be, etc etc. I'd recommend signing up on the mentioned site and posting in the forum there to get a good recommendation.

He imports them from Asia... So I've gathered from all the info over the last few days...

That cpu speed is low.

That GFX card could be better too.

What's your budget?

Remeber you can't just upgrade a lappie like a desktop.

Thanks for help. I don't actually want a 'gaming' laptop (desktops ftw!), just a laptop below R10K with some decent 3D horsepower.
