Can any of you recommend a good gaming mouse I could get for under R500?

All the mouse you'll probably ever need:

SteelSeries Sensei Raw Rubberised @ R509

I reviewed it for NAG Online and it was a great experience. I have no qualms about recommending it to anyone, especially since Steelseries' software is rather good. By contrast, my Prestigio mouse feels a thousand times crappier.

My razer diamond back had a rubberised coating. Not sure if its the same as the steel series, but three years down the line the rubber turned into this horrible sticky k*k! So just a warning about longevity there.

I got a RAT 5 for around 500... best investment ever. I split water all over it about 6 months ago and the one LED stopped working (I was super bleak), then suddenly is flickered and came back to life... The mouse is still working 100%!

Well I can tell you that the rubberised surface on, say, the Death Adder, is very different to the one the Sensei RAW used. I doubt very many peripherals out there are built to last more than two years of regular use anyway.

Haha i've had this for over 4 years now, but yeah, the upgrade was due a long time ago to say the least.......

I would go for either logitech G400 or the steelseries Kana both is under 500 bucks and both are fantastic but if you want something with more keys for macro etc I'd go for coolermaster inferno it's bit more expensive but well worth it.

Nice review. I saw that you mentioned it was more of a palm-grip mouse, that's a little disappointing since I am a claw-grip gamer, but it's still a pretty good mouse. I noticed someone in the comments brought up the Logitech G400 and Pe-Killer brought it up here as well. I had a Logitech MX518 and it was a great mouse so I'll probably get the Logitech G400.
