Gap-cover Question and Pregnancy

Hi Guys,

Just a question im on Discovery Coastal Saver option and my Gap cover with Turnberry. My wife recently gave birth and I was blessed my a Beautifull baby boy . She had Caesarian and we have gap covered well the Gap cover both the Gynae and Anesthetist I just wanted to know does Gap cover also normally cover the pediatrician as well as this part of the authorization or am i wrong?

No it does not cover the pediatrician. On Coastal Saver it comes off your medical savings.

It does while in hospital or during the birth. Post hospital care is your own pocket.

Well it is in hospital and part of the authorization so I will confirm with them if it should be covered as well.

Ours covered everything in-hospital - nothing out of hospital.

Should definitely be covered then. Gap should cover your doctor, assistant, anesthetist if needed and the pead. Also any extras your child might have needed (physio etc).

Also remember a gap claim is separate, you need to submit the hospital account and doctors bills to the policy. Its an insurance, not a medical aid, there is no auto-submission.
