GAP Cover - which company/plan?

Discovery has new a Gap cover product for Discovery medical aid members.

Anyone that buys anything from them needs a policy covering stupidity..you are paying for new banks and overseas ventures...

I am with Zest (think it's underwritten by Liberty). Fairly decently priced and have not had any trouble claiming.

First time taking GAP cover so any advice

Recommending gap cover (and any insurance for that matter) needs to include a review of submitting a claim.

I've been with Stratum Benefits for a while now, no issues or complaints.

But have also heard good things about Total Risk Administrators (TRA) Gap Cover.

Haven't had good experience with Discovery, every time you try to claim you "Discover" something else they don't cover.

With Ambledown for a few years now. Almost R500 p/m but never had an issue claiming. There is even an emergency benefit where if your savings are finished and you go to the emergency room at hospital they cover those costs.

I have Discovery plan. R300 a month for 200% specialist cover and R60 000 cancer. It's pathetic but I was too lazy to investigate other options and they called me to sell it to me.

Same! Never claimed so no idea how badly I'm being screwed.
