I have a Digi One 1000N garage motor that I want to repurpose into a small tumbler.
The Motor is 24Vdc and it is running smoothly off 2x12V batteries(in series), so the motor is working of 24Vdc.(spec also say 24Vdc)
There is a transformer in the unit, but it is 220Vac to 24Vac. It powers a pc board which somehow converts it to 24Vdc which drives the motor as well as charge the small 24Vdc battery. Pc board has been destroyed.
How can I get this motor to run of normal wall socket with the correct hardware?
I have purchased a 220Vac to 24Vdc transformer, but it does not run the motor. The transformer is 2.5Amp. Not sure if it is sufficient to start this motor, but also I have been told that type of transformer is for running lights.
What size and what type of transformer should I get? Or can I use the units own transformer, but then I will have to convert 24Vac to 24Vdc, not sure what to use for that.
With the above mentioned and the cost in mind, is it worth it to continue with this project? Or should I rather look for a small, slow running 220Vac motor instead?
