Tablets hurting PC sales

Worldwide personal computer sales are on track to set a new record this year but tablets like Apple's iPad are taking a bite out of the sector, technology research firm Gartner said Monday.

...must have been an USA Apple fanboy that wrote the article, however Apple does spend a fortune on marketing on most fall for it.

1 st: http://www.ctlcorp.com/v4/p-909-2gopad.aspx / http://www.2gopc.com/2goPad.html - Highest level of functionality and specifications, Windows based, more affordable, local support unknown and supplier’s stock currently on back order – very popular - choose your own options

2 nd: http://h71016.www7.hp.com/html/Slat...9-hp-slate_110910&dimid=1096797216&dicid=null - Good local support, Windows based, however much older processor - which could result in lagging of video and poor multitasking

3 rd: http://us.blackberry.com/playbook-tablet/ - Own operating system, locked to cellular provider, however has good functionality and specifications, dual core processor

4 th: http://www.samsung.com/uk/galaxytab/?pid=uk_home_subbanner1_galaxytab_27082010 - Own operating system, locked to cellular provider, terrible local support - might change as Rectron is now supporting some models

Comment: Would not purchase Apple iPad - http://www.apple.com/ipad/, too expensive, too many issues, lacking in functionality, poor support (unless you are living in the States).

And why shouldn't they take a chunk out of PC sales. They are useful for doing the common daily things that we use PCs for.

Phiffffff.......as if i am going to buy a k@k ipad to play high end games on it, you cant do anything with that thing, maybe if you are reading ebooks 24/7.

They should've said that Tablets are taking a chunk out of EEE PC's / Netbook sales, because it won't be replacing high end laptops/desktops...
