Gas thieves use cigarette lighter at the wrong time

GRAND JUNCTION - The sheriff's office says two men trying to steal gas from a boat instead started a fire.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office says Cody Sellards and Timothy Long tried to steal gas from Hank Ibarra's boat early Friday morning.

"They were looking inside the gas can to see how much room, or how full the gas can was of gas," said Heather Benjamin, spokesperson for the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. "They looked into it with a cigarette lighter and the fumes caught on fire."

I remember reading a Darwin award candidate whi did a simliar thing, except he was inside the tank...

Also, did you hear the one about the farmer who was "inspecting" his cows backside with a hosepipe or something lol. He lit his end to shed some light on the situation at the same time the cow farted and apparantly shot a flame 30ft backwards and set his barn on fire...

Reminds me of another petrol story a few years back.

These tourists camped in a caravan park overnight in a campervan.
Guy gets woken up in the middle of the night by some strange noise,goes outside takes a look around and don't see anything wrong.
Next morning tho he finds a garden hose sticking out of the side of his camper and a big pile of vomit on the ground.
Seemed guys had been trying to siphon the camper for petrol but had mistakenly stuck the hose in the toilet tank.
