GConnect wtf?

I phoned these guys a few weeks ago to find out how quickly I can get online after signing up. They assured me that I will be online in a few minutes no matter what time of day i sign up even over weekends. Silly me went and believed the sales talk again. Signed up on Friday night. Couldn't get the connection going, so I phoned the support on Saturday. The guy claimed not to be technical enough to help me, so I had to wait for a techie to phone me. And guess what, still waiting!

They will probably try and sort me out today, but as I'm stuck at work I will only be able to assist from my side after hours (when there aren't any techies available). Just great!

So to anyone reading this, make bloody sure before you go and spend money on these guys. Support is obviously not one of their priorities.
 
These guys just wanted to close another sale - only out to make money(aren't we all :) )

You have a choice though - If they don't live up to your expectations, just close the account and move on.... ;)
 
Not a great experience, and is definitely not normal because, I (and others in other threads on MyBB) have had the best support ever from them, after hours too.
 
That's what I heard and that's what made me choose them. I really hope this is an isolated case.
 
Question is why can't you connect ;)
 
I just got a promising call from them. It seems that these guys are all about service, and are more than willing to sort my issues out. I will be posting again once they have phoned me tonight after work. So far so good!
 
They sorted me out last night as promised. Thanks guys! I just have one other issue/question. When I enter my credentials in the landing page, I get a message that my account has R0 available. I purchased the 30 day broadband pass. Is there anything I have to do to activate it?
 
GConnect- I am not happy!!!

I signed up for a new account last month , ordered a new sim , waited a week for delivery. I gave the RICA forms to the courier. It never reached Gconnect. I then mailed the forms through to them. Nothing happened. I phoned to check activation, and was promised it would be done in 48 hours . That was last week. Still no connection.Dewald just blamed Vodacom.

So ... i signed up the 26th - today is the 12th - maybe i can get connected before the month is over.

This is not worth it, i am going back to pre paid.
 
And guess what - No sollution except a mail to say that some one will call me. Still waiting.

From signing up, depositing the skille into their account, and connecting took me less than 15min.
G-Connect FTW!!
 
Lucky you- seems that their service is not consistant- or it is a case of great service when they still had a few customers, now they can not deal with the volumes
 
LOL- I ended up phoning them myself- They say they will give me a refund as they can not explain why this happend- lets see if they will refund me -
 
They seem to get the connection done quick enough, but dealing with third party suppliers seems to be a bridge too far- guess it is teh normal story, technically they are good, but as far as customer service is concerned , they have no clue. Still not got my refund- and the managers are either in a meeting, or , gone home early cause it is friday!
 
They work for me. Top Up usually take less than 10min if you pay via eft. I have good support when I had problems. I can't complain. But I speak for myself so I don't know what happened to other clients.
 
Guess that is just statistics- one out of ten or something - and i am the one- Something as simple as phoning back , can make a huge difference in the perception created with a client- I used to train client care- gues that is why i am passionate about it- but my perception is that they do not care - because this is ongoing- not just once , but over and over- am i just the chosen sacrificial lamb
