I have 2 alts i just run heroics everyday on.

I have loads of frosties and triumphs on them and by loads i mean probably 400 frosties and double that triumphs.

Do i use that emblems to get gear or do i get primordials and gems put them on the ah and make a quick buck before Cata?

Remember when cata hits, ilvl264+ gear is not going to become totally obsolete, so i would gear it up as nicely as possible with those badges. Its not going to be like wotlk when tanking in blues from north was better.
 
i've read on mmo-champion that they want a level up to feel like a LEVEL UP and that quest greens and blues will replace 264 at 82 and 277 at 83?

What about armpen, its gone in cata and allmost all dps gear has that stat, so should dps 'ers bother with getting the tier gear?

At one stage my guild had a alt run going once a week and i thought i would get time for that, so i did all the quests and and dailies i could, then no one showed up for the alt raids ext and i just thought i would use is once the runs get going again, but i'm tired of waiting so its sell time.
 
Gold all the way. By the time Cata comes out, you can get the crafted stuff from Cata. Will be better than the gear currently.
 
karazhan was cleared with t3, naxx was cleared with t6. just keep that in mind
 
based on past expansions the good gear from wrath should be usable in early Cata. The things like mp5 and Arp will be converted to appropriate stats.
Greens and blues tend to be a bit unbalanced - again going from previous expansions.

However there is a fundamental shift going into cataclysm. stamina is increasing dramatically and damage will increase moderatly.
the reason people are saying the lvl81 stuff is way better is cause it has crap loads more stamina and (intellect/spirit/strenght) ect.
They have no way of knowing what ilvl277 stuff will look like once converted.

So either way it's a risk. we will know more when the pre-expansion patch comes out. but then the price you would get for stuff may decrease. infact I'dd say stuff's price is already decreasing.

me personally I liquidated my bank toons stuff - like everything I was hording. (I learnt from the last 2 expansions)

Goldz is always usefull, no doubt. especially to make even more gold when the new stuff comes out, level professions quickly, buy BoE's and random drop epics.


Since they are your alts there isnt much time or imo reason to try to re-do the content on them. I would assume your going to level and raid your main first in cata so they wont have any edge by having good gear either.
 
I look @ things this way.

Why spend time grinding, emblems, money gearing etc now when its quite a bit of efford to get gear and when it is really easy to get the same kind of gear and better easily @ 85 and your way there.

So great my main has over 6k gs and hc pieces, thats gonna help me 4sure, but I'm not gonna really worry about grinding ages for those 1 or 2 other BIS pieces I wanted. I'm also not worrying about gearing my other 3 alts to much. What drops I'll take as it will help me a little going forward. But I rather take gold for them as its something that will help me allot more going forward. (ye noobs still buy crap you win :p)

If we go by whats happening these days with pugs and gs then I don't see that changing anytime soon. (diff if you in a proper guild)
What do you think is going to give you the better GS, a Level 264 ICC item or a Level 316 cata blue?
How do you get the ICC item atm? You raid-grind for it...
How do you get the Cata blue? You just level your toon! something you will be doing anyway...

So imo, do the things you ENJOY atm, don't grind for gear. Take gold! It something comes your way then take and enjoy it :) If you ever wanted to chill and take some time from wow then as always this is the time to do so :)

We cleared Naxx in our sunwell gear. Only us tanks had to make any changes and that was mostly gemming/enchants for the defense cap change.

That said, my alts have been parked in gold farm mode for 6 months already I think :P
