Gearbest.com - Any good?

Once it arrives in SA and shows Under Processing (JHB), I would call them on 0113903520. They suppose to automatically push it through customs if they have your details. If it arrived on Thursday, they should have submit for customs on Friday and cleared today if they have your details.

Always advise to call the moment it hits South Africa. They might be a courier company but they also have delays and pushing them a but is always worth it.

Thanks. I called them and they said it is currently in the customs process, but not cleared yet. I offered my details and they said they have everything already, which I assume is from my last phone order last month. I'll play the patience game and keep refreshing the tracking.

Awesome. Better to know it is going through customs and not waiting for information. PM me tomorrow if it is not cleared by lunch. I will call the one person I know and see if we can try feedback for you. :)

I placed an order for some stuff at the end of November.
No tracking information on the site and when I sent in a service request about it, I was told to contact the post office to find out if my parcel is there.

Anyone know if or how that is possible??
Since I have no local tracking number and received no note from the PO about a package being ready for collection.

Please drop me a PM with your order number and your international tracking number. I will then find out what I can and assist.

Aramex just mailed me now confirming they received my payment and will request to release my package. So next week it is I take it.

I placed an order for a SUNVELL R69 from gearbest, I was impressed by the shipping time, this was my first order from them, when i plugged the TVBox to my TV via HDMI, the TV doesn't see the TVBox, I tried with another TV same problem, what a very bad experience for a first time order.

Okay, so time for an update.

8 February: Ordered from gearbest.
27 February: Package received by Aramex Hong Kong.
1 March: Package arrived in Johannesburg and entered customs clearance.
6 March: Received a request from Aramex for my ID number, invoice, receipt and a copy of my bank statement. I was warned that the customs and border control unit clearance process could take two weeks.
7 March: Customs clearance finished.
22 March: Border control unit completed their inspection.
23 March: I paid Aramex.
26 March: I picked up my package at the Pretoria depot as I couldn't wait for them to dispatch.

BCU opened all the bags in the package, closed them up with SARS tape. Nothing was damaged or missing.

My order:
Mi A1 RED. Awesome phone.
Mi Notebook pro with fingerprint.

I think the reason that the package needed extra inspection is because the declared value of the package was on 10% of the actual package. I was not penalized for that as my supporting document I submitted had the correct amounts on them.

What made the process bad? The fact that a factory fault item was delivered to you?

It's bad experience as they should source things that are tested before being sold to customers.

Fruitless debate, it happens to the best of every single company. You just got unlucky. It’s crap yes but it happens.

Why is it such a mission to get a response from Gearbest.

Emailed them and send a message on Messenger App.

Did this more than once .Nothing. Just pure silence.

One item not received at all. Shows it was shipped but is not on the delivery list either.

One item is also of poor quality and badly damaged.

These were cheap items. What if it were more expensive stuff.

Paid with Paypal so I think this must be my next move to get at least some attention to my dillemma.

Still waiting for 2 electronic devices arriving tomorrow and I hope for the best.

To cautious to order from them again. Well then. Back to Amazon it is. Great service from them.

Yes but when I log in and enter ticket no nothing shows up. This is from cellphone though. Would check on laptop if there is a diff

Now the question...How do you negotiate a better price with Gearbest?

Bulk buy is the only way that I know you can negotiate the price. For small quantities, we all wait for coupons to save a little.

I have been purchasing a whole bunch of small cheap items. Noticed that they have a lot of small items for under $5 which are actually really good and awesome. USB Wifi, Computer Fan Dust Mesh, etc.

Ordered some stuff from GB. Paid with paypall. Status shows Netherlands registered shipping. Wtf is up with GB. I think this must be my last order. Don't know whatsup with them these days.

Splitting for me has been awesome. It brings down the amount of items in that package and thus better when using Aramex as splitting makes it under the R500 value so no clearance fee. But splitting with Airmail is just bad. Both packages will come at completely different times and different payments. Same thing with DHL. R150 for any value item clearance is rough on my pocket.
you've got PM

Best shipping option to South Africa

I have placed a few orders with Banggood recently (3 in the last 6 months), using the EMS shipping option. The first 2 orders arrived in exactly 21 days. The last order seems to have shipped back to Korea, after almost 2 months (no reason given to why). After this is confirmed to be the case, they will refund me.
I am now considering GearBest, so now my questions are:
- Would/could this also happen with Gearbest?
- What is the difference between the 5 USD priority line (3-7 days) shipping, and the 50+ USD DHL (3-8 days) shipping?

What are the pros and cons if each, GearBestZA?
