Gears of War 2 thread

It has awesome multiplayer ,great campaign and most importantly its all great fun.

what more do you want from a game.

Sure, but that sounds like many other games out there. How does GoW then become a candidate for game of the year?

Personally, I've always found the whole cover mechanic a bit tedious. Much prefer circle strafing and jumping around like a mad thing, but hey, that's just me.

1.b He has a gun with a chainsaw on the front
2.a. Your guns carry more ammunition than is humanly possible
2.b. And it has a chainsaw on the front
3.a. You get to swim in a Lake of blood
3.b. Which you made with your gun with a chainsaw on the front

lol doob. A lake of blood does, indeed, sound awesome.

Yes, you are correct: that is just you.

I on the other hand hate the FPS circle strafing mechanic. Gears is awesome and I love it.
 
I agree with Option, they're quite different, but both are a lot of fun.

I'm near the end of chapter 4 fighting you-know-who, you-know-where and it's the same thing. Let my fight it, don't just keep throwing random QTE's at me. I chainsawed it in the face, I should win for that.

Hey let them, that's great ... ;)

If it said 360 only, PC gamers would completely ignore the article and the game.

This way PC gamers read the review, want it, and when they go to the shop to get it get told it's 360 only now and forever? The burning desire would hopefully spur them to pick up that 360 sitting right there within arms reach, that's only R1800, bonus with free games, just to play Gears 2. Then the mind starts playing with Fable 2, and endwar, and ... we get ourselves a new 360 fanboy :D

Well, that's the evil theory at least .... :o
 
So we should start subliminal marketing on the pc gaming thread :D ?
