I'm doing the same, even though its aged it still pretty much the one of the best looking games i've played.

Good idea if you haven't played Gears 1. I imagine it's not the sort of thing where playing 2 first is a good idea.
I got a COG! Was at the Brooklyn BTGames midnight launch and they had 2 COGs for pre-orders! Just my lucky day I guess I wasn't planning to go and decided last minute that I want my game ASAP. Would have kicked myself if I didn't and missed it...

Well I'll put it too you this way ... Of all the guys I know that went to the midnight launch, half of them are still logged on, playing and refusing to answer MSN messages ....

I logged on last night and of the 32 guys online 30 were playing GoW2. The other two were playing BF:BC so they're forgiven
