GeForce GTX 280 review

Pre-order price:
BFG Geforce GTX 260 OC: R5590 inc vat
BFG Geforce GTX 280 OC: R9318 inc vat

OMW :eek::eek::eek:

Oh well, then I guess it's one 8800GT (maby 2) for me then. Wonder if the GTX200 series will lower prices on all other generations  What's everyones theory on this?

Remeber the 8800Ultra  same thing all over again... 10k for a card...
even 5k for a GTX 260 is alot :(

I want to see the price of the 4850!!! A Asus top end motherboard is over R5K, also too much IMHO.

what's a good price on a decent SLI mobo anyway ...... that 2x8800GT sounds nice (and cheaper) :D

that 9+k cost can go take a flying fsck ...... I'd rather buy an SLI mobo and another 8800 any day :D

thanks bru ... looks good that one. So that'll be R3700 for the mobo and another 8800GT .... better than 9k eh :D

:DYeah 2x 8800GTs SLi perform way better than GTX 280....

Hopefully 9800GX2 price comes down;)

:D Even with those prices I would not go for it, the performance is just not...>>Geforce5 to Geforce6<< type performance:cool:

And many articles before stated that a single GTX280 would be faster that a 9800GX2....and that turned out wrong very wrong indeed:eek:

Lets see what ATi has to offer with their new 4000 Series.

EVGA 01G-P3-1280-AR nVidia GTX 280 Chipset - R8399.00 including Vat. From a CT based dealer.

This price is shocking indeed...

Yeah I see Landmarkpc has it for R8400, it's the EVGA with a 10 year warranty (If you buy this, it might just have to last longer than even that warranty though:D )

Now let's hope ATi's 48x0 series is faster than say a 9800GTX, then we might see some nVidia Fanboy's turned :)

lol the EVGA GTX 280's with Copper Water blocks are going for about €758,53

You'll need a power supply that can deliver up to 236W for the card itself and you'll need both a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCIe power connector (the board won't work with two 6-pin connectors).
bahhh, i'm not upgrading my PSU to deliver 250W of power to JUST the gpu... wtf! is it a little nuclear reactor or something? my 2900xt (notoriously "hot" and "hungry") is better than that...

guess who is disappointed by this nVidia delivery? :( performance is shocking if you consider the price. you can buy almost two 9800gtx's for the price of one gtx260?

i'm getting a bottle of wine tonight...
