General AI Crap

Microsoft is reportedly dialing back some of its Copilot ambitions in Windows 11 as it responds to criticism that the operating system has become overloaded with AI features.

Plans to bring Copilot directly into notifications and the Settings app, which were announced in 2024, have quietly been scrapped. The company is now aiming to be more selective about where AI experiences and Copilot branding appear across the OS.

This shift is part of a broader effort to reduce perceived AI bloat and address growing user complaints about Windows 11 becoming cluttered with AI integrations, according to a report by Windows Central.
Guess they don't like being called Microslop.

The US police system was so fked even before AI got involved.
This ladies life was totally wrecked and it seems no restitution or even an apology from the police.

“While I was in jail I lost everything,” she remarked. “My family put my personal belongings into storage but the bill couldn’t be paid. Everything is gone. Everything. I lost my rental home in a mobile home park. I lost my Social Security income. I lost my health insurance. I lost my doctors. I lost my dog. I lost my car, a Chrysler Sebring convertible and everything inside of it… Everything.”

I was skeptical to start, but have found using AI in parts of my work to be beneficial and productive. Without exception, I test the information provided against my knowledge and experience. I never accept the info without proper consideration. For now, I only use 3 different sources for this, because I like to see different views and "triple" check some important queries.

AI is very useful as a tool without a doubt, it is not a replacement for skill and understanding though.
