General coffee thread

It seems that Nescafe Cap Colombie get really good reviews.. and I sooooooooooooooo love it! But what does the purple version taste like?

You need a metal jug and patience. Klaar. It's only how you make it that gives the taste. Greeks like to call it Greek coffee, but it's not.

I've had Greek coffee at cafe 41. It was good... but only a few sips worth.
But I'm starting to get the idea.

So, until then Nescafe Cap Colombie will be my benchmark and definition of coffee. :p
With instant coffee, you are not enjoying the coffee per say, it's the caffeine and taste.
Whatever the style of good coffee. It's always best to be freshly roasted and correctly brewed.
As for Colombian coffee, a most popular style in that country is Tinto, which is black, near espresso strength, with a few drops of fresh lemon juice and a generous amount of sugar. Very nice indeed
EDIT: P.S. - Maybe someone from Pretoria can recommend foozball a Cafe there that serves artisan italian coffee? The Italians are without argument, most refined when it comes to quality.

damn, i just finished my coffee and realised i have one more muffin:eek:

it will have to be decaf for the next round:o

Jip. I love the taste of Cap Colombie. And Ouma Buttermilk Rusks.
I don't mind the taste of it either, being a confessed caffeine addict, it is only for the caffeine if no other choice is available, like say camping with mates or in a waiting room.
If you enjoy it for taste, godspeed to you...

I need a new coffee. Nescafe is expensive! R75 for Alta Rica.
But the only option from here on is to get a percolator

Or a French Press. The venerable macchinetta is also simple and effective.
