General coffee thread

It depends on how strong the coffee is. I tend to get free coffee at work (they use Jacobs only), and then at home either Jacobs or D&E, however prefer the latter. I dont bother to go buy coffee at the shop, R40-50 a cup, and its basically similar to what I can make at home. I have a nespresso too, but thinking to get a more serious machine. I bought the Nespresso from a friend who forked out R17k for an coffee shop machine that was closing down.

Coffee puts me to sleep, and doesnt keep me awake. Yet I only ever sleep from 3am to 7am daily and no more.

A coffee shop is similar to Jacobs?

There is an account called Joburg coffee dude on Instagram and he kills me. Goes around Jozi, tastes and rates the coffee everywhere and then posts about it ... but his choices, uggh. I mean, as long as he has fun, right?

I didn't know @RedViking moved to JHB?

Stones in my packet of beans from a certain chain store 'Premium Retailer'. They were apologetic and gave me another bag so it's a plus.
I once had stones in a 1kg of coffee beans. The supplier initially rubbished the report, then a few days later asked me to return it, as they had similar reports from a few other customers

The burr grinder, a Gaggia, was ruined. They gave me a Krups one in place of it

I was lucky my burr grinder is still ok. I examined the bag of beans and found more small stones.

Sent the video to their HO and they were very prompt in an apology and actually delivered me another bag free.

We use these vending machines that has instant coffee which is Jacobs Kronung, or have bean to cup coffee or hot chocolate (nestle).

I tend to drink the bean to cup mostly. Its quite good. The machine gets cleaned a few times a day, and stocked up.

Currently having problems with my Delonghi bean to cup. Horrible crackling sound when attempting to grind the beans. Then it just stops the process.

I suspect something foreign (maybe stone?) in the grinder. Too bloody tricky to open the machine and I dont have a T20X screwdriver either.

Does anyone on here know of a place in CT area that does coffee machine repairs?
