General coffee thread

Currently having problems with my Delonghi bean to cup. Horrible crackling sound when attempting to grind the beans. Then it just stops the process.

I suspect something foreign (maybe stone?) in the grinder. Too bloody tricky to open the machine and I dont have a T20X screwdriver either.

Does anyone on here know of a place in CT area that does coffee machine repairs?
help him @backstreetboy

Had the same happen with my Delonghi, ended up being a rogue green bean that got stuck in there. Managed to force it out with a skewer but first adjusted the grind level to coarse to open the burrs up.

First day of one of the best decisions you'll make in your life

Gotten to that point after more than 30 years of drinking it every day, multiple times a day, where my body is just like “nope”, and of all the **** I’ve tried coffee seems to be the one thing left that could be causing my weird symptoms. If I’m right, then I guess it’s goodbye sweet, black nectar, it’s been a good run.

As someone who stopped drinking coffee about 20 years ago, I'm often amazed at how easily people simply ignore the obvious (and many) side-effects of their coffee addictions. And it really is that, for many it is genuinely the very last thing they'd consider giving up. Anyway, well done and all the best! Hoping your withdrawal symptoms aren't too severe.

To be fair, I’ve been down to one cup of full fat first thing in the morning for more than a year. Then a decaf with breakfast, and another with lunch. Long way from the old days of having about 6-7 cups of full fat throughout the day. So, not really sure how bad withdrawal is going to be. Over 24hrs since I last had a cup, and strangely feel more wide awake than usual? No headaches or anything to report (yet). So far so good.

Looking for some info, I need to buy an espresso machine and grinder for my lodge in Moz. Budget is max R30k.
What do you guys recommend?
