It's perfectly fine to put it in the freezer. Highly recommend and keeps its fresh. If I buy large quantity of beans I freeze it after 3 weeks of roasting date.Do not put it in the freeze
Some people just like to be bitter.
With an attitude like that you will make the milk go sour. All junk. Beans ftw!
Try AliExpress.Does anyone have a recommendation over where to buy portafilters and unpressurized baskets, both in-person (in Johannesburg) or online?
I've seen a confusing array of items on Takealot, but compatability is my biggest concern. My Morphy Richards coffee machine has the classic "three ears" on the portafilter, but they've got some leveling to one ear of each tab in a way that might give some massive compatability headaches.
They are doing you a favour/flavour
If you do it correctly, absolutely. It's perfectly fine to put it in the freezer. Highly recommend and keeps its fresh. If I buy large quantity of beans I freeze it after 3 weeks of roasting date.
You can't go wrong with freezing beans.
Yeah I keep them in their bags sealed. Most have the degassing valve and it seems to compress and let out all air as it freezes. The open bags go into the Airscape container. If you do it correctly, absolutely.
I have trauma from growing up with frozen coffee that wasn't properly sealed/stored. Hell, sometimes it went to the fridge, then the freezer. So you had funky food aromas and freezer burn combined with the stale coffee taste. Yummy.
I find it hard to buy enough beans to justify freezing any of it. We're 2 people and we go through a kilo like its nothing.
