General Gaming Discussion Thread

Yeah GT7 is massive, but still the best race simulation ever.

You can also plug an external hd / ssd into the usb to extend space.

You running on the ps4 ?

Yip PS4, couldn't justify the price of a PS5 for a casual gamer like me.

Got the 1TB slim for R2920 including shipping with three games. Good value for money IMO. Though had to buy a 3m charging cable as the battery on the controller is useless.

Well if you’re adventurous, you can install a 2.5 ssd 1tb yourself and re-install the ps firmware.

Or just play stock standard, the space is more than enough for you.

SSDs have gone up in price (and apparently don't provide much of an improvement anyway).... I bought two for my laptop just before the price increase....

Is it true that when you power down your console with the PS4 you can leave the disc in for extended periods and it will do no damage, but with the PS5 if you power down you need to remove the disc.

My ps5 is the digital one, so I’ve never actually bought a physical game.

What is a decent price to pay for a secondhand Switch 1.
Want to play the Ori and Zelda games.

Would say about R3-5K depending if its LCD or Oled. (New = R5000-R8000 Again LCD vs OLED)
Think 1st Gen are the hardest to get as they can be jailbroken.

Switch game prices normally more expensive than other consoles even secondhand can keep pricing esp 1st party where some even increased over time.

Will be playing it mostly on the TV so Oled doesn't matter that much.
So you reckon for a V1 R3000 and up is what to look out for.

Yeah I noticed, very high priced games. I love me some Zelda and always end up buying a console just for those games even if it's years later.

Nintendo are very expensive with their flagship games.

Mind you the price of other console games and even Steam PC games have gone up a lot in the past few years.

You preaching....

Originally bought a Switch for my SO and upgraded her to Switch 2, still ended up collecting games for myself :D

Yeah I will look out for some secondhand games if possible. Even Skyward Sword (which I never got to play), an old game, is over 1k........

Zelda/Mario/Metriod games have a very good resale value, even their pokemon series.

So you wont find anything under 1k unless you are lucky, Ori you can probably buy from the E-shop for a good price.

Digitally 1st party do go on sale and can be picked up for R750 eish just have to be patent and keep an eye out on sites like say

On that 3rd party also go on sale all the time eg: just missed a sale on Ori for R82 :(

Good idea to have a watch list set on the site.

We use it to update our collection as well

What do you guys think of this deal:

Price: R5300, gonna try talk him down to R5000. if I consider buying.
Accessories: (Box not included)
Nintendo Switch dock
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (Super Smash Bros Edition)
Secondhand Nintendo Switch AC adapter
Secondhand carry case
2 Joy-Con Controllers
2 Joy-Con Wrist straps
3 Games: The Incredibles, Tennis World Tour, Little Nightmares: Complete Edition

I don't really need those games, but I guess I could try sell them.

There's some good deals on Gumtree but will have to test the console at my house first before paying.
