Better anti-reflective coating, USB media player that plays HD video, FM radio capability, better TV menus and remote control.
 
Got the frontosa pricelist today, I can buy from them directly without a markup, the 42c450 is listed as R6099 and it has to be requested. Nowhere on the pricelist do they specify if its including or excluding vat though. So I guess thats excluding vat, which means it's R6950? Not a good price at all, I mean, the 42c430 is around for R5000 - R5500 and Cats Digital has the 50c450 for R8000?

If it's R6099 including vat though, I'm buying...

Outdated price list perhaps?

Unless mine is. :p Works out at about R5800 with VAT on mine... Cape Town branch though but AFAIK prices are the same/similar.
 
Well, just saw it has the jhb and cpt branch telephone numbers on? So I guess it is a universal pricelist?

Cool, let us know. Hopefully an outdated price list ad there was a huge price cut on their Samsung TVs recently.
 
Ai ai, asked my contact to call Frontosa and ask about the availability and price cuts. Just got the reply and they just said they don't stock that model (ps42c450). Guess they were clearing out and it may actually be end of line? I can't find this tv for a reasonable price anywhere!

I've got at R6290 incl VAT
 
Maybe I should just bite the bullet and get a ps42c430, LG plasma or Sony ex400 LCD special with HD PVR. The R800-R1300 for the extras don't seem worth it?

I loathe all the alternatives though:

I HATE LG, I've had problems with 2 of their PC LCD monitors in the past two years. The 430 has no anti reflection and usb with movies. The 50hz LCD is going to bother me with watching sd/sport plus it's only 40".

FML :(

sounds good. Wife & I went to look at my brother's 50" over the weekend. Thought the TV looks excellent, but my wife says it's too big for our living area. So wanna go for the 42". Would be nice if it came in a 46" tho ;)
