Technically not...

Mentally yes. ;) :D

Come on. LA32D550 will get you chicks.

Trust me, I'd love to spend more. But trust me again, I can guarantee you this money will be gone buying food/partying/random things as I don't have a great income and spend more of my time balancing university work and going out!

Then you probably aren't a student :)

Sounds just like you're trying to find some stupid reason to justify a purchase you know you don't need and which you know you are going to regret...

Been there myself!

No, not really. Justification = currently have a 54cm prob 7 years old or so, tube is on its way out. Plus my birthday last week (the primary reason I actually have money for once, and would rather spend it on something physical than going out with it etc :) )

Buying a junk LCD is akin to "going out with it etc". ;) :D

Going to get the Sharp tomorrow, will try enjoy and appreciate it even though it's 'junk' :)

Sharps aren't like Sinotecs, Sansui, AIM or Logiks, in fact from a lot of reviews Sharp rates really well.

Welcome to the discussion, Lupus !

Please could you read from more than two posts back and then formulate a thoughtful reply.

Warm regards

PP.

:D

I thought my reply was a lot more thoughtful then telling the guy he is going to have to be drunk in order to enjoy his tv. Which is flawed and horrible advice especially with regards to the Sharp 32 inch TV which is 720p is fine, I mean you have a bigger one with a lesser resolution so you don't really have room to talk. If squirrel wants the Sharp I see no issues with it.

About to finally buy a TV this weekend. But now Game has a 40" Telefunken FHD @ 3799. So LA32D550 or the bigger telefunken for 300 more?

I'll be using it as my PC monitor for now, but I don't really play games. Will mostly be for HD movies & browsing.

For PC monitor you'll probably want a brand name. Samsung LA40D550 for 40". Better screens and menu's/options than the cheap brands, which you need to get PC input correctly displayed.

What size is that? 55"?
No my 40" C530.

Not sure if MC have been doing some optimisting on their transmission backend, but from just before the start of the RWC their HD sport signals have improved noticably. Maybe they finally switched from MPEG2 to MPEG4 on HD, or just cranked up the bitrate on SS HD channels?

Also the few motion anomolies I previously experienced on 50Hz are no longer present e.g. noticable shadow ghosting on facial closeups during some events, like US golf. Last night's feed was pretty much perfect.
