he had issues connecting his LC to his TV and was getting carp display, this is now after having tweaked the settings
Best advice ever, if I knew I wouldnt have wasted my time trying other displays first. The D550 (SQ0x) displays handle PC input better than any other TV set I've seen or tested. Hats off to the Samsung engineers that developed the processing, hardware, software of the D550 (SQ0x) line of displays.Yeah, using it as a PC. UA32D5000. We advised the usual LA32D550. But he did not like the thicker bezel.![]()
Is he running Windows Vista or Windows 7, because in default mode all fonts are blurry because of Microsoft's attemp to make it look better by doing sub-pixel interpolation and using Trebuchet MS as default font. What they have achieved is to make everything blurry, and on a bigger screens it looks, well, even more blurry. Google "Windows 7 blurry fonts" and see that you are not alone.
One guy actually created a "Fixed Aero theme" which you can install and there are some other stuff you can do to fix up IE9 and Office fonts as well. I have actually put together a "recipe" to fix 99% of the blurry font issues with the help of the Fixed Aero theme and a DWite dll somebody else wrote.

EDIT: I'd give PostManPot a +1 for the discovery but there's no G+ support on the myBB![]()
What did you pay for your tv? How much more was it than the D550 that everyone recommends?I am running Windows 7. I found the screen a little bit grainy but I appreciate that this is due to the screen size. I am sitting about 1m away, but I am used to it now.
Games are amazing on this screen, really awesome.
Will check out that fixed areo theme.

I paid R4699. Was R1000 more.
For me it was a no brainer. It is paper thin compared to the pretty thick D550, LED vs LCD and the bezel is a lot thinner, no big deal but looks better IMO.
I share your sentiment on the thick bezel of the 32D550 ... how's the LED's panel compared to the LCD though?
Thanks bud. After using the previous C550 for a while, I knew the D550 would not disappoint.
What about input lag. I am keen on the LA40D550 offer but are torn between LCD v LED.

What HDMI port have you been using (or changed)?Ok not sure what I did to my monitor, but it is looking sweet now. Changed a whole lot of settings and it now is looking great.
