Generator Error code...

those units dont really keep a memory its volts.frequency.time it should scroll through them while running. in one line not 3 thats just an example

I actually do have bot the manuals but mine doesn't have the codes I will look into scanning them in and making them available.

Could you remember how to reset it after the service?
There was no resetting - it's cumulative so the next will probably be P 75 (hours runtime), followed by P100, etc.

The number should correspond with the service schedule in the manual. IOW it's not an error code, it's a timestamp.

I actually didn't check before I replaced the AVR. But I still have the old one so I can check tomorrow.
just one other thing is your gene running fast that will probably be a 3600 rpm machine .drop the speed and the frequency should drop as well .if running very fast it may still be the capacitor .the capacitor will help it to maintain proper speed

Yea I didn't find another cap accept the one that was on the AVR I am sure there might be one but I don't want to dissemble it all the way as I kinda need it running.

I will do the test just to see thank you.

Thank you I will look into it, I did notice my manual is for a bigger generator then the one I have I wonder why it shipped with it? As soon as I can figure out why my scanner not working I will scan the manual in it is actually a thick book.

the cap is usually behind or in the control panel 2 wire usually square odd uf values depends on machine from 11 .17.24 uf it must be exact otherwise the machine cant build up flux in the cores so it runs faster than it should .that could be why the f is showing as high.does it still scroll through the 3 values if not go back to cap in box

i wonder if the Grip range are clever enough for service interval reminders ?

if you can get her down to 52hz you should be fine .lots of equipment wont work at higher than 53hz it also can put strain on the windings .set the hz with it under a bit of load

Sorry I was actually very busy, client wanted me to do some work after hours.

Right I will test with load today, I will then change out the AVR and repeat the test. It has new sparkplug, oil and filters. Drained the old petrol, so I know everything I can do is basically done. Short from stripping it down and rebuilding it. Honestly I don't have time for that because that will take the whole day. That little blue thing on the AVR I am guessing is a Trim Pot and It should control something I will see what it does. But I have the feeling the moment I am going to put load on the generator it will drop to 52hz or lower maybe. Reason is the motor does turn "slower" if only a tiny bit once load is introduced and that will have an effect.

Have you used it for 6 minutes, then the message go away? Apparently.
I will give it a go now, I had no time to work on it yesterday but I need this thing fixed today as my other generator "also a rebuild" seems to have broken down. more on that later.

have you ever pushed the little button in the display to cycle to the next one its next to the g .
