Generic Host Error

K, getting this stupid error at random times when im on the internet,mainly if i use steam or msn messenger, scanned for virus's,scanned adware. Downloaded patch from microsoft to stop it and it still comes up, every time it comes up I have to restart my pc to fix it as nothing basically works after it eg.networks ports,games,windows basically

Anyone who had a similar problem that can help me?

nope but if i were you maybe reinstall windows, coz it sounds like there maybe a funky application or a driver thats doing it's own dance and doesn't wanna join windows,

what OS?
what does the event viewer application/system log say regarding the error?.

I've been having that too, and it seems to be related to not doing the patch-a-mole game. Anyhow, elG results and the tomshardware forum page I went to for a fix. Goto the post one up from the bottom by "Wanderlust" and get the (tiny) app called Windows Worms Door Cleaner he mentions.
